Learning with web2english

When I first started to learn English through Web2english , reading, writing, listening and speaking was not easy for me to learn using the computer. I made many mistakes because I did not know how to use the computer, but as time went by I could use the computer a little.

The part of the course which I was interested in and spent most time on was writing. My vocabulary, idiom and grammar were poor so I needed dictionaries and grammar books to write an essay. I had to struggle. Repeating these exercises, I am now a little used to reading text in the British Council website. And I am able to send text messeage by telephone.

The most difficult part of the course was speaking. When I speak English, the sequence of words in my mind gets mixed up. When I was recording the podcast, I was embarrased because I was reading like a robot. I just finished 9 times of podcast recording. I improved better than the first time but it is still awkward for me to speak and record in the podcast.

I want to continue to learn English until I am able to watch movies without subtitles. When I first started courses, I used to ask myself if I can complete the courses. I was able to continue the lessons because I met good friends and a teacher. I sometimes could not submit homework on time. But thankfully my teacher corrtected all my poor sentences and checked my homework. Thank you Mr, Sean. I belive Web2English will be a wonderful guide for many people who wish to learn English.

City versus country life

In this essay I will write about good things and bad things about city and country living in my country.
There are many good things about living in the country. First, we can breathe fresh air everyday. Second, We can enjoy organic vegetables. Third, the country has ample affection and generousity.

But there are also some bad things. Cultural, educational, medical and shopping facilites are insuffcient. Also, there is less choice of occupation. In addition, transportation and communication is uncomfortable.

There are good things about living in city. First, cultural, education, medical and shopping facilities are good. Second, We can choose various jobs. Third We can take public transportation conveniently.

But there are also some bad things. First, air, noise, and water pollution are serious. Also, Traffic is congested at rush hour. In addition, many people came into the city and houses are expensive and insufficient.

Now, I want to live in the city. The main reason is my child's education. The second is the city has wide range of jobs. Third, we can enjoy various kinds of entertainment. Fourth, hospitals are near at the time of emergency. The city has disadvantages but I like city more because it's convenient.

Ways to Protect environment

When I go to Jisoo's school from Dubai, I turn right at exit 63 on the Emrates road. On the right side of the road there is a landfill. It's as great as a mountain. Lot's of plastic bags fly here and there on a windy day. I thought the trash was thrown by us!

Koreans are doing separate garbage collection when they throw away garbage. Seperate garbage collection needs a little labor, time and it's a little uncomfortable but we can reduce waste. We can recycle some of it. So it is economical.

In my house we have a lot of garbage daily. Most of it is food waste. If I throw the remaining food, I feel it's a waste of money. So I put them in a fridge but I dont want to eat unfresh food. It will be thrown away a few days later. Also, some of the old vegetables get rotten in fridge. They will be thrown away.

My mother is buddhist. When I was young, while I was eating my mother told me. "when people die, they will go to Hades. When they are going Hades, they have to eat all their left over food". "Therefore, do not waste food ". I am in trouble since I have thrown away a lot of food waste.

I think protecting our environment starts from home. First of all, I must reduce food waste.
Next, I should check the frige weekly and buy required vegetables only. Then, I should cook the required quantity to prevent food waste.

The food waste will continue to build up. It will cause a decreased area of landfill. Who wants landfill in our neighborhood? Who wants landfill near our kids‘ schools?

Finally, if our small efforts are gathered, we can hand over a clean environment to our descendants.

My future plans

In 2010, I have some plans. It is very ordinary. First of all, I want to be a good wife. Now what kind of wife am I? Married men were surveyed in Korea about who's the best wife or who's the worst wife. Best wives were those who make a lot of money. Worst wives were those who wear extended sweatshirt and dishevelled hair at home. and say hello to their husband in those clothes. These wives know savings only. Worst wife is similar to me. I will try to be kind, gentle, charming and a self-developing wife.

I told my daughter you should try to make the best of all things and I expect my daughter will be good acdemically. But I felt she is under stress. I changed my mind. Study is not more important than her personality and health. So I will help her to be able to grow up beautifully with her mind and body. I will try to read her mind with a warm heart.

I am going to make myself better than before. Living in a foreign country is important for me to learn English. So I am going to work hard to learn English. I almost didn't read any books
for a long time. I am going to regularly read a book every month.

In the long term future, if our child is grown up and we have enough money, I would like to go to the countryside with my husband. I would also like to build a pretty house in the countryside and plant vegetables in the front yard. I would like to spend time in nature. and do good deeds neighbors.

My life now and ten years ago

10 years ago I was single and lived in Goyandong with my parents. I was young and pretty. I had taught children at kindergaten. I had liked my job and worked hard .

10 years have passed. I changed my life and appearance. I have been married for 8 years. My family is living in Ajman. I am a perfect Mrs wife. I do not look like a miss anymore. When I was single, I often didn't eat meals because I wanted a slender body. Now, I find healthy foods and eat them for my health. When I was shopping I bought beautiful things. Now, I prefer practical things. When I was getting ready to go out, it took 1 hour before. Now, 10 minutes is enough . I have a lot of white hairs and started to have even forgetfulness. I sometimes open the fridge door and don't know why I opened it. It is passing after 1 or 2 seconds.

I told my husband and I pointed to my wrinkles.

I :" If there are no winkles on my face, I will look 10 years younger..... I want plastic surgery ".
H : " I think it looks fine but if you want to then do it ".
I : " The price would be high ".
H : " How expensive, it's doesn't matter ".
My husband doesn't express things well, but he has huge heart and he understands my mind. When my daughter prays she doesn't forget to pray for mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. She has a pure heart. " I love my family and I am happy !!!!! "

I lost a few things in my life, but I have more valuable things. I think happiness will be started always in our mind. It is everywhere in our daily life. I realized it a few months ago.

My childhood

I grew up in Goyang dong. My brother, friends and I used to play many things together. I spent most of the time with nature. In summer I went to the mountains behind my house. There were many kind of trees and wild flowers. We picked strawberies and swum in the stream when it was hot.

I lived in a 2 story apartment. There was a gate to the rooftop on the second floor. I laid a rush mat on the rooftop and did homework with friends. When we got bored, we looked at the clouds in the sky and talked about how they looked. Sometimes they looked like elephants or human faces.

I often went to grandmother's house with my brother. There were many beautiful flowers in the garden. My grandmother picked the balsams and dyed my finger nails a red color.
She was a great cook. All the foods that she cooked were delicious. We ate yummy lunches there.

In winther we went to ice skate in the morning and we came back home at lunch. When there was snow we made a snowman and had a snow fight. When we became bord we went up the hills and slid down with a sled.

The place where I lived changed. Now there are many modern apartments but the mountains I climbed are still there. It's more luxurious than when I was young
Memories of childhood is always fun. What are those friends in my childhood doing now? I miss them.

My year in 2009

2009 was a year that mixed good things and bad things.
There were many bad things. Last year was an economically hard year because of the economic crisis in U.S. Our stock had fallen to the bottom. The economy in the U.A.E had become seriously unstable and our economic status had become poor.I wanted to say to my husband thanks for working hard under bad economic conditions.

But there some good things. I was buddist. My husband and parents-in-law were christian. I started to go to church after I got married. I was buddist but I went to church until last summer.I was not sure that Jesus is alive. Last winter I was sure that Jesus is alive next to us.
So I became Christian.

I started English lessons with a wonderful teacher and new friends last Novenber.
I felt happy when I understood how to read and write English.
In 2009 the economy was bad but I had wonderful and great experiences.
